About Us

Blackstone Rocks Radio

  • At Blackstone Rocks Radio, we are intent on bringing to you the songs of your life, those songs that reached out and touched your soul, that helped get you through the day, the night, a breakup, a loss . . . as well as helping celebrate your greatest triumph, no matter how fleeting . . . the memory always stays, the passion remains . . .
  • We are dedicated to playing tracks that deserve being heard not only once more, but to be again celebrated for the impact that they had both musically and culturally . . .
  • Our playlists shout out that these incredibly young artists were demi-gods of all they surveyed, savants of the guitar, keys, percussion and song . . . they wrote ballads, the blues, rock and roll, and psychedelia . . . birthed by the Mississippi Delta, Southside Chicago, Liverpool, London, Haight-Asbury, Laurel Canyon, and CBGBs . . . love songs and protest songs . . . rock anthems and rock operas . . . all the while these artists were both singing unaided by artifice and playing their own instruments with before unseen virtuosity . . .
  • We are deeply aware that if our music . . . in particular the songs, along with the artists who created them and for which we have felt such a deep connection, especially during our times of trouble, grace, heartache and joy . . . are not passed on to future generations, then as has been said, those cherished moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain . . .

Blackstone

Sir William Blackstone (1723 - 1780) was an English jurist and held by the Founders to be the paramount authority on the English common law . . .

Our Blackstone is a wee bit younger than Sir William, being born in the 20th century, and is a living reformed, garrulous, retired member of the Bar . . . Blackstone cut his teeth on the vinyl records made by the Fab Four, the Glimmer Twins, Slowhand, and Jimi . . . At college he didn’t go Greek, but instead joined the brotherhood of college DJs, and still managed to somehow graduate . . . A surviving bandmate of blues rock garage ghosts Oliver Twist, Ledbetter Jones, and the Magical Hippies, Blackstone is now the ringleader for his own planetary, extra-terrestrial Rock n’ Roll Circus, Blackstone Rocks Radio . . . Most relevant for this page, he's loved music all his life, from listening to Green Tambourine as a kid after lights out, to catching Robin Trower at London's Islington Assembly Hall last May.

Long Live Rock!

The Next Generation

A key goal of this station is to provide exposure to the next generation of rockers, on both sides of the bloody pond.

If you're in a band and are hell bent on making it not just in your local bar or pub, but globally.

If you think you got the chops to be the next Hendrix, Clapton, Stones, or Stevie Ray.

Then put down that pint and email us at . . .

blackstoneguitargods@gmail.com

It'll help if you've got an mp3 of an original track
